Lucy Rose
7-19-10; 33.2 wks pregnant- Dear Baby Lucy, It has been a while since I wrote you but I know you
are getting bigger and growing stronger. Only three and a half more weeks until you are considered "full-term"!
You are measuring right on track and I can feel your powerful kicks all the time. It is getting harder for me to bend over
and move around very quickly anymore! I have been doing some shopping for you over the past couple weeks. I have most
of your clothes bought and yesterday I bought your bassinet. I can't wait to set it up in our bedroom. These next few
weeks will seem like they are taking forever...but I know you will be here soon and we cannot wait to meet you! Love, Your
Mommy.
5/21/10- 25 wks Dear Lucy Rose, I had my
24 wk checkup the other day and my midwife said you are doing so great. You are actually measuring a week ahead of schedule!
AND you are laying really "long" as in the midwife could feel you wayyyyyy up under my ribs already. I wonder if
you will be long and skinny like your sister Vangie? Or shorter and rounder like your sister Sophia? I am fine
with anything as long as your head isn't as huge as your brother Joey's head was! I am already planning on you being at least
8lbs like all of your siblings where. You and I have gained a total of 16 pounds together- which my midwife said was
excellent. I am slowly but surely getting things around for you- a had a friend give me some of her baby clothes her
little girl outgrew and you have already gotten a few outfits from family members. You have your own room too. (well,
technically its the guest room too until you get a bit older.) I am counting down the days- only 106 days until your
"due date" but I am planning on you staying in there at least a couple days past your due date-- and if you do end
up coming a bit earlier then it will just be a pleasant surprise. In three weeks we will be taking a long plane ride and visiting
all the family and friends in Michigan-- I hope we will both stay comfortable in those tiny airplane seats! Love, Your
Mommy
Dear Baby, Below
are the ultrasound pics at 21.5 weeks gestation. The ultrasound tech said you weighed about 13oz, to which I responded: "That's
IT?" It sure does feel like you weigh a lot more than that! You looked so cute on the screen wiggling and moving all
over. You even tried to suck your thumb. I have never had a "thumb sucker"- maybe that will be you? I have still
been feeling ill, baby! You are definitely my hardest pregnancy. Maybe it's because I am getting older, though I would hardly
consider 31 to be "old"! I think maybe you will just be super healthy and full of moxie. This is a good thing, considering
you will be the youngest of 4! You will never have a dull moment in this house. Speaking of your siblings, they
love you so much already. They give you "Huggs" and "kisses" everyday and when I am laying on the couch
they will cover you up with a blanket so you don't get "cold". I can feel you moving around all the
time now, and soon the rest of the family will be able to lay their hands on my belly and feel you move too. We are still
going jogging- you and I. I plan on keeping us on the move until the very end. I ordered a "belly belt" to wear
on our jogs and walks- it will help hold you up and keep me more comfortable. It should be here any day. Only 18 more
weeks until you are here and we an hold you and love you. Love, your family.

04/03/10- 18wks pregnant. Dear Baby Thoretta, Your brother and sisters are so excited about you getting bigger
in my belly. They give you kisses all the time. I know you will be loved beyond words when you get here in a few months! We
now know that you are a GIRL and we are so excited. We have even picked out a name for you, and we are not telling anyone
because it is going to be a surprise. You are going to be born at Trippler Army Medical Center here in Hawaii. Even though
you are my 4th baby, you will be my only baby born at a military hospital. These next few months before you get here will
be spent getting ready for your arrival. Since we gave away ALL our baby things after your big sister Evangeline
was born we need to get a lot of little things. By the way, I am STILL feeling neaseated every night and exhausted all
the time. Maybe by week 20 I will feel normal again?? Love, Your Mommy
Below are the pictures from Baby's 15wk ultrasound, where we found
out that she is a girl!

11 Weeks 2/13/10--
Dear Baby Thor, This is your mother speaking and I am writing you this letter to
let you know you are seriously kicking my butt with this horrible "All-day Sickness". You make think this is funny
but I can assure you, it is NOT. I have responsibilities, baby Thor! I do not have the luxury of laying in bed all day- did
you know that you already have 3 siblings?: This is a busy household and you are causing your Mother a lot of stress. Now,
perhaps it isn't your fault and you have no control over my sickness. I understand your growing and developing all your
organs and major systems. Your right, you have a big job too. I am sorry I came off so cross. I am normally a lot nicer, but
being sick for 6 straight weeks will turn anyone grouchy. So just keep growing and developing. I pray everyday that
you grow big (but not too big, I am planning a natural delivery!) and strong. I am sure this sickness will end in the
next month. I cannot wait. Love, your Mommy.
9wks 5days: 2/3/10: Chris and I found out on 12/24/09 that we are expecting a 4th and final child into our family. We could not be happier.
We have thought for quite awhile that there was someone "missing" in our family. The three kids would be playing
together and running around and it just always felt like someone was missing. We both prayed about this, because adding another
person to your family is a BIG DEAL, and we both knew in our hearts that we wanted another child. There is never a "perfect"
time to add a baby, is there? Chris works a lot now, and we live 4,000 miles away from family but that is okay. Nothing is
impossible with God. He will give me the strength to get through whatever I need to these next 7 months and beyond! At about 6 weeks into this pregnancy I was hit with wicked morning
sickness. I knew this was going to happen. I suffered from morning sickness with all my children- Joey was not so bad, Sophia
was horrible, Evangeline was double the horribleness. Actually this pregnancy has not been as bad as my last pregnancy. I
believe this is because I have been taking zofran (an anti-nausea) medicine faithfully. I still get sick, I still throw up
almost every day, and I am still housebound and cannot cook or really clean. I can still take care of the kids, do short
errands and enjoy the beautiful daily sunshine here in Hawaii. I am hoping this sickness will end at around 12 weeks
(only 2 more weeks to go!) I have my first prenatal appointment on Monday- I am excited to hear the heartbeat!
