HAPPY BIRTHDAY SCHMITT GIRLS!
Okay, so it is not TECHNICALLY their birthday yet, but don't tell them that! Sophia and Evangeline
celebrated their 4th and 2nd birthdays this past Sunday while Grandma Tuy was in town visiting. Sophie was very, very excited
about this- she has been continuously asking about her birthday since MARCH, and I was so sick of hearing about what she wanted
for her birthday (which, in case you are wondering was pretty much anything and everything she saw on a commercial or in a
store!) Sophie put it best when I was putting her to bed Sunday night after her candles had been blown out and her presents
opened "I am SO GLAD my birthday finally got here!" Me too, Sophie, me too! I made them both
a matching miniature Barbie cake and Evangeline did a really great job at blowing out her candles. She blew one out and I
helped her with the second before she singed her eyebrows off. Sophie got all 4 of hers. The cake was a great success- very
tasty- The presents were an even greater success. I made sure to get Sophie a lot of little things (like hair clips, stickers,
chapstick) so she would have lots to open. She also got a great remote control Barbie car from Grandma Tuy. It is a lot of
fun to drive around. Evangeline also got some hair slips and stickers and a great Baby doll from Grandma- it laughs when you
tickle it's tummy and even cries when you drop it on its head. Vangie also got a carriage that she puts her doll in and
zooms around the house. Don't feel sorry for Joey, as he did not go empty handed. He conned Grandma into buying
him a pretty cool bat-mobile car and motorcycle! Also, check out the NEW PICS page, as
I finally have some new pics up!

Off to School!
School started for Joey and Sophie on Monday. Joey is now in Kindergarten! He goes everyday from 8:30am to 3:30pm- what a
day! Joey loves school, he likes his teacher and taking his lunch. He even rode the school bus home on the first day! (This
was because he really wanted too!) However, it took the bus one hour to drop him off so now Joey says that I can pick him
up. Sophie also started pre-school. She goes every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30-11:30am. She is
having a harder time- she cries when I leave but I am hoping this is something that she will outgrow very soon! Sophie DOES
however love the new backpack that I bought her to go to school. lol.

Date Night... The haunted Jail
Chris and I had the luxury of going out without the kids on Friday night! Don't feel too bad for the kids, they had a
fun night at home with the babysitter! Chris and I went to downtown Charleston, where we ate dinner- I can't
remember where, but it wasn't that great- Everything was fried and fatty-- I would have rather stayed home, had a huge
salad and saved ourselves $60!!! Next time we will do that. We also toured the Haunted Jail! This is a Jail in Charleston
that was built in 1793ish and some pretty horrific things happened there over the years- there have even been paranormal
studies done there and it is supposedly really haunted. SPOOKY! It was a fun night, even though we didn't see any ghosts,
Chris and I both agreed we wold NOT want to be alone in that building! We took a lot of pictures, a couple of our pictures
had "orbs" on them-n little circles that have never shown up on any of our pictures before- and supposedly that
happens a lot at the jail. I have posted it to the left for your viewing pleasure!

HI Friends and Family!
Summer is rapidly flying by! Joey starts school on the 18th of August- he is very excited. Sophie will also be attending
pre-school which means that 3 days a week it will be just Mom and Vangie hanging out- what will we do with ourselves? I am
sure we will be able to think of something. The heat index puts the temperature at around 110 degrees here
today- Yuck! it is too hot to even go outside. Everyone tells me that after August the weather starts to cool down which will
be very nice. Chris had his wisdom teeth pulled out last Friday- but he is doing much better now and we
are both glad that it is behind us! I am thinking about enrolling Joey and Sophie in Gymnastics- there is a place right here
in Goose Creek and I think the kids would really enjoy it.
