A day to run errands....
Hi friends and family!!  I hope you are all having a schmitt-tacular day today. Ha ha ha. We the Schmitts are doing great here at our campsite! Or should I say "Home Site"? Either way, we are doing very well. There is a little cold snap going through tonight, the low will get down to 32 degrees, but our furnace will keep us nice and toasty!
As I write this entry we are getting ready to head out for the morning to get our errands done. The kids are all on the kitchen floor sprawled out with construction paper, kid siscors and crayons.
Today we will be taking our chevy Truck in to the dealership to have it fixed- something about how the brakes are wired is wrong, causing it to always be "hot". We think this problem is why the brakes on our 5th wheel have not been working.  Supposedly there are a ton of recalls on that year- 2002- so hopefully it is just a recall that will get fixed for free.
Today Joey and Evangeline will also be visiting the doctor. Joey has his 5 year check-up and Vangie is due for ther 18m shots! Ouch!
Our first stop as usual on a weekday is the Gym. My step class is at 9am-10am. During that time the kids have fun playing at the gym daycare/play area. I always back a bag for them with snacks and drinks so they have a fun time at the gym too!
Have a great day! I know we will!

Happy Easter!
We have been here in South Carolina for almost one week and I can officially say: We all LOVE it here. The weather is BEAUTIFUL, the scenery is beautiful, the base is nice, the commissary is only a short bike ride away and is large and has a great selection. The base has 12 miles of bike/running trails. I ran them for two hours on Saturday and they are SO BEAUTIFUL! Lots of water, trees, small wooden bridges, marshlands, hills.... everything you would like for a great trail run and more. I only ran an hour out and then a hour back, but I could have gone a lot longer. Next Saturday I will leave earlier to do some more exploring!!  Tucked back into the RV park we are very close to nature and we all love it. The kids play outside - riding their bikes, going to the park, going for walks, for a couple hours each day and they are so happy about it. They enjoy living in the RV just as much as Chris and I do! Everyday is a new adventure to us.
On Saturday  we drove out to Patriots Point, where the public can tour an old Submarine, Destroyer and Aircraft Carrier. Chris was the camera man and took lots of pictures. Joey and Sophie had a blast! They thought everything on the Sub was "totally Awesome" and were amazed to hear that that is what Chris will eventually be on!
This morning we went to our new church- St. Timothy's Lutheran Church- for Easter Service and it was very nice. We felt very welcome and the church felt warm and inviting. We stayed afterwards for refreshments and met a few members of the congregation. This is also the same church where Joey will be attending Preschool starting on Wednesday and where Sophie will go to Preschool next year.
When we move to a new place it is easiest if we just "jump right in" with the new community- church, school, meeting neighbors and making new friends. We realy feel right at home and very glad to be here in Goose Creek. This next year is going to be an exciting, magical time for us and we are so excited about it!

We've Arrived! Happy Birthday Joey and Jake!!
The Schmitts have officially moved to Goose Creek, South Carolina. We drove up from Orlando on Tuesday. We picked up our 5th wheel from Camping World where it had some maintenance work done and drove it to Foster Creek RV park. We backed in and hooked up to our site, unloaded the van and basically moved in and got comfortable. The kids were very excited to see the camper, or as Joey affectionately named it, "Sprinkles". The have their own room with their own TV!  Tuesday was a long day but we got a LOT accomplished.
On Wednesday me, Chris and the kids drove to our new gym and did a quick workout. Then we went to Target and the kids got bikes!!! (see picture) Chris spent all afternoon putting them together. Joey has officially mastered a two wheel bike. He was riding all over the RV park- which has nice ,smooth, straight roads perfect for bike riding. Sophie rides very well with her training wheels and Evangeline needs to be pushed but likes to think she can ride!
I have added pics of the kids, our campsite and some beautiful scenery from the river within walking distance of our 5th wheel.

Happy 5th birthday, Joey!

It has been an action packed week here with the Schmitts. First off, Greg and Kim (Ma and Pa) Perkins drove into town on Sunday night to visit us and for a blast of warm weather! They combined business with pleasure and brought a Semi Truck load down with them. They got a very nice hotel in Kissimmee- it wass actually like a small condo with 2 bedrooms, a living/dining room and a full kitchen- it was a REALLY great place  and we all stayed with them for two nights. They brought Joey and Sophie's cousin Jake down with them to visit because th=ey were missing each other a lot!

On Monday night I talked Ma and Pa into doing the SKY COASTER!!! If you do not know what this it, click on the link below to be shocked and astounded!  On Tuesday Joey had his 5th birthday party at Chuck-E-Cheese! A lot of family and friends came to help us all celebrate Joeys 5 years! I have included some pictures to the Left and also on the NEW PICS page. Thank you to all who came and helped Us celebrate!

Our Drive to South Carolina

I am finally recovered from our 18 hour road trip we had on Monday enough to write about it...

Chris and I drove to Charleston to take our 5th wheel in to have some minor things fixed. We decided it would be less stressful to get the 5er fixed BEFORE we moved on March 18th and needed to LIVE in it. We left Orlando at 4am and Chris drove the 6 hours to Charleston.

We arrived at the Base and hooked up our 5th wheel and drove it to Camping World- the people at Camping World have been AWESOME to deal with- after that we drove to what will be Joey's new preschool to meet his teacher. Then we took care of some things we needed to do on base, then we toured the gym we are going to Join when we move. It is called St. Andrews Family Fitness Plus and it is GREAT- they even have classes for the kids! Once this was all done we ate lunch at Applebees and then began our 6 hour drive back to Orlando.

CONGRATS BRIAN AND SHERRY!

Last night Sherry and Brian finally tied the knot. It was a beautiful ceremony from what I was told. I was actually out in the parking lot holding onto a screaming 18 month old who was supposed to be a flower girl but decided she wanted nothing to do with it. Sophie didn't want to walk down the aisle either, but once Chris walked with her down she stood up front with her cousins and did a good job. Joey was a GREAT ring bearer. I had people tell me that I should rent him out for people to use at their weddings because he was THAT GOOD. He held the pillow with precision and had a look of someone on a mission.

The reception was great. The food was good and everyone had a great time. I had to take the kids home around 8:30pm before the cake was cut because Evangeline had had ENOUGH. She was tired and cranky. She wanted me to hold her, then she wanted down, then she wanted up again. Once I got the kids home they fell asleep immediately.  Visit the  the NEW PICS page to see some pictures of the kids getting ready (Evangeline had her first ever make-up application). Also the kids at the wedding before the ceremony.
