Yesterday the we all went to Sea World. The kids had a lot of fun and were very well behaved. Vangie only had one melt down
during the Shamu show, and that was only because she was exhausted. We saw lots of shows and displays. The kids had
the most fun playing at the playground they had there. Sophie and Joey even rode a roller-coaster.
Today was an exciting day for Evangeline. She got her very first haircut! We took the girls to a hair salon in the mall
so their hair would be picture perfect for Aunt Sherry's wedding next Friday. Sophie even got her hair shampooed! Vangie
didn't like the hair cut too much and shed a few tears but overall she sat pretty still on my lap. She looks so much older
now with her baby fine hair cut off, I think it will grow in a bit thicker. Since Vangie had such a fine time getting
her hair trimmed we thought we would make the day even more memorable for her so we traveled over to the Piercing Pagoda to
get her ears pierced! This is not the first time Vangie has had her ears pierced. When she was about 8 weeks old we
took her to the mall in Okemos, MI to get them done. At that time they were pierced crooked because only one lady was working
and after we pierced her first ear she was P.O.ed and was screaming and squriming and would NOT sit still. I had to take
them out and let them heal over. This time we made sure there were two ladies working so both her ears could be pierced at
the very same time. They were and they are perfectly symmetrical. I let Chris hold Vangie during the actual piercing because
I am a chicken and can't stand to see her screaming so I took the kids to the fountain to throw in some pennies while
we waited. I heard only one long scream, she screamed once right after the piercing and has been fine ever since. She has
even forgiven Chris for submitting her to the pain (he was the one holding her so she of course blames him, ha ha ha). She
now looks so grown up and adorable with her short hair-do and diamond (they are actually cubic zirconium but don't tell
her) earrings!
Wow, I have really been bad about keeping this updated the last couple of weeks! Time has a way of just slipping by, especially
these days the kids getting older and busier! We are having a good time here in Florida. The kids are enjoying their pre-schools.
Sophie is getting more used to going and not crying so much when I drop her off. Her teacher, Ms. Fisher is a God send! She
taught for 18 years before retiring and teaching pre school. She is so patient and kind with Sophie. They both brought
home lots of Valentine's from their class mates on Valentines day. They also breing home lots of great Art work that Chris
and I hang on the walls. Its nice to be able to hang things on our walls again- the whole year our house was on the market
we didn't hang anything up to keep it looking clean and nice. We are so glad THATS done with!
We have been visiting Great-Nana and Great-Grandpa every Wednesday and the kids really have a good time. Nana always has yummy
snacks laid out for them that they really enjoy and for Valentines day they each got their own bag filled with special treats.
We
have also been going to Church at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. Vangie goes to the nursery and Joey and Sophie go to Children's
Church- So Chris and I can actually sit and enjoy the service.
Today we visited with their
other Great Grandpa- Granddad Allen. He lives in Kissimmee and has a nice house with a pool and a yard with a Bird bath- the
kids got in the pool and also played in the bird bath! It was a nice visit. He also had snacks laid out and the kids tasted
everything and really enjoyed themselves. Vangie was a little upset because we wouldn't let her jump in the pool but she
eventually got over it.
The picture above is of the 4 generations- Granddad, Grandpa Barney, Chris,
Joey and Sophia.
