Happy Day!!!
I will admit, this past year has been very stressful. We had to sell our house in the worst housing market in America- (and I am NOT kidding about this, Google "Worst Housing Market in America and the Area between Lansing and Detroit Michigan is at the very top of the list!!!), Chris was unsure of his career path (Fly Jets or Submarines??) Once he decided that Subs were a better fit for our family he was unsure if he would even get an interview, then he had to PASS his interview... We had a newborn baby and all the stress that THAT brings, We made a huge purchase when we bought our 5th wheel and had a HUGE learning curve with figuring out how to tow, set up, and operate everything on it.... Wow, just listing everything makes me think No wonder we were stressed out!!!
Well, Today is a VERY happy day because one of our last stressors is leaving- today we close on our house at 2pm! We will hand over the keys and be done with it!  We feel so luck and blessed that we were able to sell our house at all.
Also, Chris passed his interview with the Admiral in Washington D.C.  and he is scheduled for Nuclear Engineering school in March. We are also very happy to be moving to Orlando for two months! Chris was assigned OHARP - officer recruiting duty- from January 18th until March 18th. This will be such a fun and exciting time to live close to all our family that we have been away from for so long!  AND we will be leaving Michigan at the best time- the middle of January! So good bye cold, hello warm sunshine.
Yesterday was a fun day for us. Sophie and Joey and I worked on our Gingerbread Houses! (they were more interested in EATING the candy than decorating but oh well!) We also made a Pecan Pie, Chocolate Chip cookies AND Gingerbread Cookies!  Nobody likes the Gingerbread cookies but Evangeline and I but that's okay, more cookies for US!

Newest Family Addition!
The newest Perkins family member has finally arrived. Ayden John Perkins was born to Krysti and Vachel Perkins at 12:03am on Friday, November 17th. He was 6 days early and weighed 10lbs 7oz and was 22in long! Krysti had a natural childbirth, though not by choice: her pain medication did not work! So welcome home baby Ayden!!!
In other news, the 2007 Deer camp got off to a great start. The beginning of Deer Season was November 15th, Kim, Greg and Greggie Perkins all shot one or more deer. (See picture at Right)

WE'VE MOVED!
Goodbye house! Last Wednesday the 3 Schmitt kids were whisked away to Grandma Perkins house to spend the night (their FIRST night all 3 were away from home at once!!) So Chris and Laura could move all of their possessions from their old house in Fowlerville, to their new Apartment in Howell, MI. Laura's two brothers showed up to help- and thankfully they did, because it made things do 100 times faster!
It took us two UHAUL truck loads and 12 hours of physical labor to move all of our possessions. Our apartment is now all put together and feels like our home. The kids love it here, they all sleep in the same room together like three snug little bugs. They also have a play room full of all their toys that they love to play in.  Our apartment complex has a hot-tub up near the front office that the kids are dying to go to and we will go visit very soon.
We will be officially closing on our house on Friday.  I have posted some pics of our apartment. We live on the second floor and have a small balcony off the living room.  We also have an attatched two car garage which is nice to use to store some of our things.
